Suspended by an invisible thread they appear to float across the heavens

We watch... tethered...

Circling with the merest movement of flight feathers, we are mesmerised into stillness

Deceptively scanning the Earth, upon which we stand, for their next meal

Folding wings they dive forward and plummet, robbing us of breath as we wait

Talons outstretched they catapult into flesh and,

Successfully burdened, fly away.

We watch... in awe...
